What is the Project Achiever Programme?

The Project Achiever programme assists accounting professionals by preparing them academically and practically to write the SAIPA Professional Evaluation (PE) Exam and earn the prestigious designation of Professional Accountant (SA). SAIPA has assisted numerous individuals to earn their Professional Accountant (SA) designation, and we can do the same for you!

Did you know? Candidates who have attended the Project Achiever Programme outperform those who attempt to pass the PE Examination without preparation!

How to Apply

  • Detailed CV
  • Employer reference letters (on Company letterhead) – The employment reference letter should meet the below standards:
    • Be on the letterhead of the company issuing it.
    • Be signed by an HR officer or a senior official in that company.
    • Must state the name of the applicant.
    • Must state the ID number of the applicant.
    • Must state the period which the applicant has been in that company.
    • Must state the duties/responsibilities of the applicant while in that company
  • SAQA letter (if foreign qualification)

  1. Once you have applied and paid the fees, we will notify you by latest, 02 August 2024 if your application was successful.

Entry Requirements

Both the Academic and practical requirements must be met

01. Academic Requirement

Candidates who have completed BCom degree or equivalent tertiary qualification (please look at the core subjects listed here), as well as

02. Practical requirement

A completed three-year SAIPA learnership.

[Applicants whose SAIPA leadership is coming to an end on or before 28 February 2025 and whose logbook is at 80% or above will also be considered – (logbook to be completed by 30 September 2024)].

OR

Candidates who have previously written the SAIPA Professional Evaluation Assessment and were not successful.

OR

Candidates with six years’ relevant, verifiable working experience in a financial environment or similar, verified by current and/or previous employers who qualifies for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Please upload an employment reference letter/s (6 years minimum working experience) must meet the below standards:

  • Be on the letterhead of the company issuing it.
  • Be signed by an HR officer or a senior official in that company.
  • Must state the name of the applicant.
  • Must state the ID number of the applicant.
  • Must state the period which the applicant has been in that company.
  • Must state the position/post held by the applicant.
  • Must state the duties/responsibilities of the applicant while in that company.

OR

Candidates who have previously written the SAIPA Professional Evaluation Examination and were not successful.

OR

A completed training programme from other recognised professional accountancy bodies

Both the academic and the practical requirements must be met.

Core subjects required

A degree or equivalent qualification with the following completed core subjects from a SAIPA accredited Tertiary Institution is required:

Financial Accounting 3

Taxation 2

Auditing 2

OR Internal Auditing 2 OR Internal Control and Code of Ethics

Corporate Law 1

OR Commercial Law 2

Management Accounting

Here are the new fees for 2024

The applicant is individually liable to cover the below fees.

Project Achiever and PE Exam Fees (Inc. VAT)
  • Project Achiever Fee – R 4,501,97
  • Administration Fee (non-refundable) – R 1,298,66 (not applicable to SAIPA trainees)
  • Professional Evaluation Assessment fee – R1,337.54 (Invoiced and payable later)
  • Applicants are encouraged to pay the Project Achiever Fee in installments until 26 July 2024

*Please note the below changes on the Professional Evaluation fee and on the fee instalments.

How does the programme work?

The Programme will be facilitated ONLINE with INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL CLASSES

Class start from 03 August 2024 to 23 November 2024

Classes will take place every Saturday from 08h30 – 16h00 – ONLINE Via ZOOM.

The programme will integrate your knowledge with practical skills.

We will assist and prepare you to write the SAIPA competency-based Professional Evaluation Examination, which if when declared competent – can qualify you for Professional Accountant (SA) designation.

 

The PE Assessment will take place on 30 November 2024.

What is covered in the Programme?

The programme is structured in such a manner which facilitates the competency to integrate the knowledge, skills and attributes through the application in business scenarios.

There is no subject-based learning in that the barriers and boundaries of thinking in silos are removed and the candidates are required to analyse the business scenario in an integrated manner (from all aspects whether be Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Taxation, Risk Management, Financial Engagements, etc.) to develop a solution and response to clients encountering business problems.

The pace and intensity of the activities and programme is driven by the candidates while the facilitator performs the functions of facilitating the process.
