Public Sector
SAIPA is dedicated to supporting the government in enhancing the efficiency and professionalism of the public sector. This commitment is achieved through regular engagement with key stakeholders in the public sector, providing capacity-building support, and advocating for improvements in legislation and standards.
Within the scope of public sector initiatives, SAIPA is actively involved in several key projects:
SAIPA and Mpumalanga Provincial Treasury Partnership:
SAIPA collaborates with the Mpumalanga Provincial Treasury in a joint effort to bolster the representation of black Professional Accountants (SA). This initiative represents the second and most extensive intake of participants since its inception in 2018, in conjunction with the National Treasury. The primary objective of this programme is to elevate the professional competence of finance graduates, thereby enhancing their prospects for employment in both the public and private sectors.
SAIPA and Gauteng Provincial Treasury Partnership:
The Gauteng Provincial Treasury (GPT) is recognized by SAIPA as an Accredited Training Centre (ATC). Within its ranks, GPT employs registered SAIPA members who serve as mentors and coaches for trainee accountants. As an ATC, GPT’s core responsibility includes creating a conducive and professional training environment for these aspiring accountants. Nevertheless, recognizing certain limitations in key areas, SAIPA is actively providing practical and experiential training to support these trainees in their professional development.
