Standard
Candidate complies with all the academic, practical and Professional Evaluation (PE) requirements.

Reciprocity agreements
Formal arrangements with certain leading accounting bodies around the world enable SAIPA members to gain international credentials

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
Candidates have acquired sufficient technical knowledge and practical competencies to qualify as a Professional Accountant (SA) through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.
Academic requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent) from a SAIPA accredited tertiary institution with the following required core subjects:
- Financial Accounting 3
- Taxation 1
- Auditing 1 / Internal Auditing 2 /
- Internal Control and Code of Ethics
- Corporate Law 1 / Commercial Law 2
- Management Accounting
Practical requirements
- Three-year learnership at
- Accredited Training Centre, or
- Six years of verifiable experience, or
- Training programme (articles) from IFAC accredited Professional Accountancy Organisation
SAIPA Professional Evaluation assessment
- Five-hour written assessment
- Conducted online twice a year
- Part of the admission process for membership to SAIPA
- Ensures members maintain a standard of quality, integrity and professionalism
- Ensures that the public has trust in those working in the industry
