Linda Maqoma

ABASA National President

Linda Maqoma is the National President of ABASA as well as the founding and chief executive of Nomatshawe Group. Maqoma holds a BCom Accounting Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Fort Hare and has 15-years of experience in the audit space, in both the public and private sectors.

Parmi Natesan

CEO at Institute of Directors in South Africa; Chartered Director and Chartered Accountant; Non-Executive Director; Corporate Governance Specialist

Parmi Natesan is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Directors in South Africa (IoDSA). She is a leading corporate governance specialist in the country who has authored numerous articles and papers, and spoken as various conferences and events. She has also attained the Chartered Director (SA) designation.

She has serves as an Executive Director on the Board of the IoDSA. She also served on the boards of PPS Holdings Trust and Alviva Holdings as a non-executive director and St Peters College as a Council member.

Parmi represents the IoDSA on a number of forums and committees, including the King Committee of South Africa, the Integrated Reporting Committee of South Africa, the Anti-intimidation and Ethical Practices Forum, the 30% Club (which advocates for gender diversity on boards) and the Global Network of Director Institutes.

She has received numerous accolades over her career, including a Rising Star alumni award from the Nelson Mandela University and was named one of Destiny magazine’s top 40 African women under the age of 40. More recently, she was a finalist for Businesswoman of the Year in the Top Women Awards, and was awarded Global Woman Achiever at the 2022 World Women Leadership Congress. SAICA awarded her a Difference Maker for Ethical Leadership and she was a finalist in the global women of GRC awards. Most recently, she received a Gauteng women of wonder award.

Parmi is a qualified Chartered Accountant, registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, with BCom (cum laude) and BCom (honours) degrees.

She is an adjunct associate professor with the University of the Free State.

Debbie is an experienced business professional with over 28 years of corporate and leadership experience in various disciplines of business. She is a diligent, committed and passionate professional who prides herself in being able to unlock value, applying a strategic approach with a clear execution focus whilst providing stakeholder value.

Kubashnee (Kay) Moodley

Kay Moodley has achieved various academic qualifications, i.e., a recognised Skills Development Facilitator, graduate from WITS business School, faculty of Law, Commerce and Management for Management Development, along with an Operational Management Coach level 3 U.K. accreditation, and as a certified Prince II Project Manager.

At an early age Kubashnee also known as Kay believed in the power of people and positive thinking. Her circumstances motivated her in setting out a path of sound values, hopes and dreams for all those that she engaged with. Kay has over 20 years of experience in Business and People, her strength lies in Coaching and Facilitation. Kay’s Core focus being people development aligned with business strategy and growth whilst working with all levels of Leadership.

Kay has project managed, coached, mentored and facilitated workshops with Leaders across Europe (U.K., Ireland, Scotland, Dublin), South Africa, Tanzania and represented South Africa at the EMEA Customer Services Conference with Bausch and Lomb S.A. in France.

Kay is also passionate about conversations around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, especially gender equality at home and work, with a sound belief that these conversations will support shape the future we all want for our country.

Being a mommy of 2 she knows it can be a real struggle to find time to look good and feel great, being professional and not look worn out next to the sport field.

Her passion for people, combined with her love of fashion, make her great at what she does. Her background in Corporate is a proven asset, as she was an HR Manager previously.

Rachel Khoza

Professional Accountant (SA), UJ Lecturer, Master of Commerce and PhD Candidate

Rachel Khoza’s expertise resonates at the intersection of Finance and Education. She holds a Master of Commerce Degree in Business Management, where she has honed her specialisation in Finance. Her academic journey includes achievements such as a BCom, Honours in Financial Accounting, and the completion of a PGCE in Senior Phase and FET.

Currently, Rachel is dedicated lecturer at UJ, where she leads enlightening sessions on Financial Management. Her influence extends across a spectrum of learning levels, ranging from Advanced Diploma and PGDip to Masters, nurturing the minds of aspiring financial leaders.

But Rachel’s impact transcends the classroom walls. She is a rising star in the realm of research, dedicating her scholarly pursuits to the realms of Education, the transformative 4IR (Fourth Industrial Revolution), and the intricate world of Finance.
