Romeo Kok

The South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Romeo Kok as a new member of the SAIPA Board.

A Professional Accountant (SA) with more than two decades of experience, Mr Kok brings extensive expertise in public practice, enterprise development and professional leadership. He is the Managing Director of K1 Small Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd, where he continues to support small businesses through practical financial and business solutions.

Mr Kok’s career includes extensive experience in accounting and financial services, having served as Manager: Accounting Compliance at B-Line Enterprise Development, Assistant Accountant at Genesis Medical Scheme and Senior Audit Clerk at Huysamen Westraadt Inc. His experience across these roles has provided him with a strong understanding of accounting compliance, financial management and the challenges facing businesses.

A Registered Tax Practitioner with SARS, Mr Kok is also a member of the Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA) and serves as a panellist on the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) SMP and SME Advisory Group. He has also participated in the SAIPA, PAFA and ESGx Sustainability Programme, contributing to discussions around sustainability and the evolving role of the accountancy profession.

Mr Kok has made a significant contribution to SAIPA’s regional governance and member development. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Cape Peninsula District Association, where he has played an active role in supporting members and strengthening the profession in the Western Cape. In 2025, he was recognised with the SAIPA Mastery Circle Award in the Leadership Category, acknowledging his contribution to the profession and its members.

As a Board member, Mr Kok will bring practical experience from public practice and enterprise development, together with a strong understanding of the needs of professional accountants and small businesses. His experience in regional leadership and member engagement will further contribute to the Board’s strategic oversight and its focus on creating value for members and the profession.

SAIPA welcomes Mr Kok to the Board and looks forward to his contribution as the Institute continues to empower professional accountants, uphold the highest standards of governance and advance the accountancy profession.
