Mr Mzizi is a governance professional, Professional Accountant (SA), and senior executive with a career spanning public finance, corporate governance and human capital development. As Senior Manager at City Power Johannesburg, he leads strategic revenue initiatives, risk mitigation efforts and financial turnaround programmes in the municipal energy sector. His expertise includes financial oversight, policy development, stakeholder engagement and leadership enablement. He serves on multiple boards and audit committees, contributing to ethical leadership, sound oversight and organisational accountability.
A Certified Director with the Institute of Directors in South Africa (IoDSA), Mr Mzizi is passionate about strengthening governance practices across both the public and private sectors. In addition to his governance work, Mr Mzizi is a committed academic facilitator at Wits Business School and Mancosa. He lectures in corporate finance, operations management, corporate governance, and risk management, among other modules.
He is also a weekly governance columnist for Business Report (Independent Media), where he writes on strategic board leadership, organisational accountability and emerging trends in governance, risk and compliance.
