Driving Progress and Accountability through Accountancy

The South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Lodewyke Naude as a new member of the SAIPA Board.

Charlie Matriculated in 2000 at the High School John Vorster in Nigel with distinctions in Mathematics and Accounting. He finished university four years later, in 2004, with a B Com Honours degree in Financial Accounting from The Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education.

He had a fulfilling student life, which included serving a term on the hostel’s House Committee and giving back to the community through being part of the PUK’s JOOL Committee.

He completed his SAICA articles at the well-respected Compendium Auditors in Pretoria (South Africa).

He qualified as a Professional Accountant (SA) after passing the SAIPA qualifying exam in 2008.

VNR was founded early in 2008 by Jannie Venter and Charlie Naude under the name Venter Naude Rekenmeesters and was since built into a respected wealth and tax advisory firm.

The company VNR (Pty) Ltd was incorporated in 2013, with Jannie and Charlie as directors.

The practice became an Accredited Training Centre (ATC) with The South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) in March 2014.

Charlie actively contributes to the empowerment of individuals with disabilities through his role as Honorary Treasurer on the board of Gauteng North: Services to People with Disabilities. Additionally, Charlie has made significant contributions to his profession and the business community, having served as chairman of the SAIPA Jacaranda District Committee and as vice-chairman for the SAIPA Northern Region from 2014 to 2017. Furthermore, he served on the SAIPA national board as a non-executive member, and as part of the Audit and Risk Committee, from 2017 to 2020 and later as Vice-Chairman, and member of SAIPA’s Executive Committee from 2021 to 2022.

Charlie enjoys hiking, is an avid rugby analyst and a keen bird watcher.
