The Ethics Institute 8th Annual Conference 2018

Join us at The Ethics Institute 8th Annual Conference, where the theme this year is ‘Changing Ethical Conduct in Organisations’. We are excited to share part of the line-up with you, including our esteemed panelists Nicky Newton-King, Isaac Shongwe and Vuyo Temba, who will be sharing their perspectives on the challenging question: ‘How can ethical conduct be changed?’.

Meet the panel:

  • Nicki Newton-King has been the Chief Executive of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange since January 2012. Nicky joined the JSE 21 years ago from law firm Webber Wentzel where she was a partner. Prior to becoming CEO, Nicky was Deputy CEO for eight years and member of the Board of Directors since December 2000. Nicky was a World Economic Forum Global Leader of Tomorrow and subsequently a WEF Young Global Leader. Nicky was South Africa’s 2003 Businesswoman of the Year.
  • Isaac Shongwe is the founder and Chairman of Letsema Holdings and Letsema Consulting and is focused on building a values-based diversified industrial investment holding company. He serves on the board of the Aspen Institute and is a Henry Crown Fellow. He also serves as Chairman of George Soros’ Open Society Foundation for South Africa and the Wits Business School Advisory Board.
    Vuyo Temba  is a registered Clinical Psychologist with a total of 18 years’ work experience in the HR, operations/management, consulting and psychology domains, gained from the financial, public, academic and health sectors. In the last few years, she has also served on the panel of experts as a psychologist in the selection, profiling and debriefing of candidates taking part in the Big Brother Africa, Survivor, Rivals in Romance and Dineo’s Diaries series. She has spoken on various platforms on issues of mental health and the workplace.

The panel discussion will follow the address by our plenary speaker, Deputy Justice Raymond Zondo on “Acting ethically beyond mere legal compliance”.
