The South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) will be producing videos on major topics in Accounting, Mathematics & Mathematical Literacy that can be downloaded for use in classrooms under teacher supervision or independently by learners at times that suit them.
Learners may watch these in different settings and at unpredictable times e.g. in groups in class, or individually at home, or on their phones.
Our aim is to encourage responsibility, motivate learners through success, and support teachers.
What is the SAIPA Enrichment & Academic Support Project?
The Accounting, Mathematics & Mathematical Literacy support material consists of videos hosted on the Zoom platform. The videos are presented by top teachers from across the country with the aim of preparing learners for their final Grade 12 exams in these subjects. The videos will appeal to learners who wish to improve their marks or achieve distinctions.
All content is fully aligned to the CAPS NSC curriculum for all three examining boards: DBE, IEB and SACAI. The lessons contain demonstrations by the teachers on how specific questions should be interpreted and answered to achieve the best results possible.
Who can register to participate?
Grade 12 learners (individuals and groups at school) who have chosen Accounting, Mathematics, and Mathematical Literacy as school subjects.
How does it work?
Experienced teachers from across the country produce videos on NSC topics in Accounting, Mathematics & Mathematical Literacy.
The videos and question papers will be stored on the SAIPA portal. These can be downloaded by learners and teachers who have registered. This will enable learners to pause videos while they undertake questions, and then resume the videos when they wish to see the presenters answering the questions.
Depending on demand, SAIPA will also be consider setting up online question and answer sessions where they can interact with teachers or tutors.

Financial statements, Interpretation of financial information, Cash flows, Corporate Governance, Ethics & Internal Control, Budgeting, Reconciliations (Bank, Debtors & Creditors), Manufacturing & Cost Accounting, Budgets & Projected Income Statements, and Valuation of Inventories and Fixed assets. |

Algebra, Number patterns, Calculus, Finance, Probability, Data Handling, Analytical Geometry, Euclidian Geometry, Trigonometry. |

The focus of these videos is to promote real understanding, reasoning and confidence in critical thinking.
How can I participate?
Learners and teachers are welcome to participate. Simply click on the relevant links below and register. Registered participants will be invited to an orientation meeting.

- If you are not a SAIPA member, you need to create a MySAIPA account before you can register (at no additional cost).
- Once successfully registered you will receive a confirmation email.
- Schools may enter as many learners as they wish. Individuals are welcome to enter.
- This Enrichment and Support Project is generously funded by SAIPA and is FREE. No payment is required.
- Participants in school class groups and individuals will be required to sign documentation for SAIPA’s Socio Economic Development Initiative.
