Celebrating 35 Years of Service

Laetitia Lourens’ Remarkable Journey at SAIPA

In April, we celebrated an extraordinary milestone: 35 years of dedicated service by our Membership Services & Support Manager, Laetitia Lourens.

Laetitia joined SAIPA in 1990 when the team was just 11 people strong. From the start, she took on more than just her title. Her role quickly grew to include HR, bookkeeping, systems development, member services, and more. In her words, she simply “did what needed to be done.”

Over the years, Laetitia has helped shape the SAIPA we know today. She introduced new systems and digital databases, supported the implementation of CPD, strengthened international partnerships, and played a key role in member-focused initiatives.

When asked what has kept her passionate after all these years, she speaks about the variety in her work and the people she supports.
“The diversity of what I do has kept it interesting. Helping members, managers, and fellow staff gives me purpose. My members are very important to me. It’s rewarding to know I can help them do what they need to do.”

Her greatest reward has been watching others grow. And her advice for those who want to build a meaningful career is simple but powerful:
“Serve with pride, embrace the challenges, and always be grateful for the work you do. Even when things are tough, the unity of working and laughing together becomes a lasting memory. It is a privilege to have a job. Respect it and thank God for the blessing you have.”

Laetitia, thank you for 35 years of incredible service, leadership, and care. Your legacy continues to inspire us every day.
