Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- South Africans who do not meet the formal entry requirements for admission to SAIPA can obtain access to a learning programme through the RPL
- The process involves the identification, assessment and acknowledgement of skills and knowledge obtained through informal and non-formal learning, as well as NQF-registered qualifications or parts thereof
Accounting Members
- SAIPA has 2 types of Accounting Memberships:
- Professional Accountant (SA)
- Accounting Technician (SA)
- Accounting Technicians perform support functions for Professional Accountants
- Both qualify for member benefits and both are required to sit the SAIPA Professional Evaluation Exam
Tax Members
- SAIPA has a Centre of Tax Excellence for tax practitioners who wish to specialise in the field of taxation
- SAIPA has 3 types of Tax Memberships:
- Professional Tax Specialist
- Professional Tax Practitioner
- Professional Tax Technician
Trainee Members
- Once you have completed your degree, you need to obtain practical experience by completing a 3-year Learnership with a SAIPA-accredited training centre, allowing you to gain suitable professional accounting experience
- Trainee Memberships are available to those who have completed a degree in:
- Financial Reporting
- Management Accounting / Financial Management
- Taxation
- Auditing / Internal Auditing
- Commercial Law
