Companies Act No.71 of 2008

The Technical Department of SAIPA is happy to present to you the New Companies Act No 71 of 2008 which was published on the 9th April 2009.The Act was bulk mailed to all SAIPA members on the 15th April 2009.

The act replaces the companies act of 1985 and as a result introduce many changes to the formation, administration and maintenance of companies and close corporations. “This Act is called the Companies Act, 2008, and comes into operation on a date fixed by the President by proclamation in the Gazette, which may not be earlier than one year following the date on which the President assented to this Act.”
