SAIPA, the South African Institute of Professional Accountants, has welcomed Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan's no-nonsense approach to the country's finances, as displayed in the much-anticipated Medium Term Budget Policy Statement delivered in Parliament yesterday.
In particular, SAIPA has hailed the cost-cutting efforts unveiled in the first budget policy statement of President Jacob Zuma's government as evidence of a responsible approach to public finances amidst a tough economic climate in which over 500 000 people have lost their jobs. Read more...
