The Project Achiever programme is a joint initiative by the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) and the Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (Fasset). The programme seeks to address transformation in the financial services industry by providing the assistance where it is most needed – among black professionals.

Following its hugely successful November 2015 and May 2016 PE results, applications are now open for candidates to register for the May 2017 PE Exams.

Qualifying criteria:

  • Completed BCom or equivalent tertiary qualification; and the practical requirement (three year SAIPA learnership or six years verifiable working experience in a financial environment - RPL)
  • Applicants residing in Gauteng, Western Cape or KZN
  • Candidates who:
    • have written the SAIPA Professional Evaluation Exam previously and were not successful; or
    • have completed the SAIPA three year learnership programme, but have not written the Professional Evaluations Exam; or
    • candidates whose SAIPA learnership is coming to an end

What does Project Achiever include:

Participation by qualifying candidates of colour will be funded by Fasset and will cover:

  • competency-based training across all required core subjects,
  • study materials,
  • continuous assessment throughout the programme,
  • subsidised travel, and
  • professional evaluation costs.
